Description

Sunspots (20231013) - flares and umbra crumbs

Extensive flare areas meander, clearly visible even in white light, against the background of the darkened edges. The active region AR13465 has separated further from the left edge of the Sun and now appears prominently.

In addition to an overall well-developed penumbra whose supposed fibers are visible even at this low optical resolution, at least two light bridges can also be seen. They stand out from their surroundings thanks to their comparatively bright and flawless appearance.

In addition, it is noticeable that all groups of spots are close to the solar equator. More distant regions of the northern and southern hemispheres appear "clean".

A look at   the associated magnetogram  confirms the undramatic appearance there.
